Bahla, located in the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman, is a town renowned for its rich history, traditional crafts, and cultural heritage. Encompassing an area of 112,000 square meters, the fort is surrounded by a 12-kilometer-long wall, making it one of the most impressive and complex fortifications in the world. In 1987, Bahla Fort was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing its outstanding universal value as an example of traditional Omani earthen architecture. 🏯 Jabrin Castle: A Center of Learning and Culture
Located 5 kilometers southwest of Bahla, Jabrin Castle was built during the Ya'ruba dynasty in the mid-17th century. The castle served as the residence of Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Ya'arubi and was a center for studying medicine, astrology, and Islam. The interiors of the castle are adorned with intricate carvings and paintings on the ceilings, showcasing the artistic achievements of the period. The tomb of Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Ya'arubi is also enclosed within the castle.
