Wadi Bih
Wadi Bih Overlook, Musandam
One of our all-time favourite campsites, this spectacular mountain spot is a must for adventurous travellers with a 4WD.
Getting There
- Located above Wadi Bih, the off-road route to the UAE (only open to GCC nationals).
- To reach it, drive south from Khasab, through the Sayh Plateau, skirt around Jebel Al Harim, and wind your way down towards Wadi Bih on the other side.
- Access requires a 4WD – the journey itself is an adventure with winding tracks and some of the most dramatic scenery in Oman.
The Setting
- A small rocky clearing offering 360° mountain views and sweeping vistas over Wadi Bih.
- One of the most striking and varied landscapes in Musandam – rugged peaks, deep valleys, and endless rocky ridges.
- At night, the clear skies reveal a blanket of stars, while sunrise paints the mountains in soft pinks and yellows.
Camping Experience
- Remote, peaceful, and truly breathtaking – an absolute highlight of Oman’s wild camping spots.
- Perfect conditions: calm evenings, colourful sunsets, and star-filled nights.
- Caution: This site is very exposed. If the winds are high, it’s best avoided.
Alternative Nearby Camp
- For a more sheltered option, head to the large flat campsite below Jebel Al Harim (GPS: 25.9665, 56.2065).
- It’s less dramatic but much safer if the weather turns windy.
